At the Joint-use facility, Laboratory of XPS analysis, Faculty of Engineering, Hokkaido University, various instruments for surface observation, analysis, and processing of solid materials are available. These facilities are open not only to researchers within the university but also to external users.

 We specialize in surface analysis of both organic and inorganic materials, including X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Auger electron spectroscopy (AES), crystallographic orientation analysis(EBSD), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), surface morphology measurements, and ion milling. In addition, we also support electron microscopy observations of biological samples using the NanoSuit method and freeze-drying techniques.
